BIO web page title: a short biography of my pursuits in a variety of media fields

Pat Perry-Burgess is a traditional freehand artist and a computer graphics illustrator, designer, cartoonist, and animator specializing in multi-media design.

She was awarded numerous regional awards and the Washington, DC Art Directors’ Professionals Award before earning her two cum Laude degrees in fine art and commercial visual communications with minors in Journalism and Eastern Philosophy.

After graduation, Ms. Perry-Burgess continued to run her own graphic design business. With a passion for Medical and Natural Science, Human Rights, Classic Film, and Wildlife Conservation, she proudly served government and private agencies such as the Smithsonian Institute, National Geographic Society, U.S. Federal Courts and the Environmental Protection Agency. At that time, the Director of the EPA declared her illustrated watershed ecology posters as his standard of quality to be studied by all other contributing artists.

Ms. Perry-Burgess held full time staff positions with two leading East Coast post-production studios. After which, she joined Discovery Communication’s Broadcast Division as a Graphic Supervisor/Trainer, Production Tech and On-Air Artist. Her pre- through post-production design skills include: Concept, Script and New Product Development, Team Training, Storyboarding, Art Direction, Digital Compositing, 2D Paint and 2D/3D Animation

Ms. Perry-Burgess’s challenge and joy is in researching and learning her clients’ world, designing innovative visuals (without compromising the story!) and striving daily to improve her craft.
